Matthew loves the Lord and has a personal story of how Jesus saved him & changed his life forever. He has a heart for teaching God’s Word and loving Christ’s Church. Matthew has served as the pastor at Poplar Springs since May, 2018. He first began serving in full-time ministry after a ten-year career in law enforcement in his home town of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Trey has served as the Worship Pastor at Poplar Springs since September 2010. Before coming to PSBC, he was an active member in the music ministry of First Baptist in Duluth. He and his wife, Stacy, have been married since 1994 and live in Buford with their 3 children: Kaitlyn, Maddie, and Robby.

Vicki Finger (or better known as “Miss Vicki”) joined the staff of Poplar Springs Baptist Church as Children’s Minister on August 1, 2006. The passion of her life has been and continues to be serving the Lord through ministry to children and youth. She also loves spending time with her family and enjoys reading, art, and music.

Fletcher & Bailey Humphrey love Jesus and are committed to seeing His transforming power change the lives of teenagers. They have a heart for the hurting and a passion for ministering among students. Fletcher & Bailey are both graduates of Truett-McConnell University.

Kevin has a lifelong story of God’s faithfulness, and an honest heart for loving people. He joined Poplar Springs as Discipleship Pastor in 2022. Prior to coming to PSBC, he served many years in children’s ministry. A lifelong resident of Gainesville, Kevin and his wife, Carrie, have been married since 2005 and have two children: Luke and Caroline.

Cathy joined the PSBC staff in 2001 and serves as Church Secretary/Treasurer. She and her husband have two children and one very loved granddaughter. She enjoys traveling, serving Christ in the many ministry opportunities at Poplar Springs, and the joy and passion of Bible Study.

Laura loves Jesus and her family. She’s been married to Tyrone, her highschool sweetheart, for 33 years. They have 3 children (Shelley, Spencer, Justin) and 4 grandchildren (Adelaide, Logan, Lucas, Carolina). Laura has been active in youth ministry, teaching young ladies Bible studies and currently serves on the Women’s Ministry team at Poplar Springs. She loves to vacation at the beach with family and enjoys time well spent with friends.

Kaitlyn has been a member of Poplar Springs since 2010 and has served as our pianist since November, 2020. She attends Truett McConnell University where she is studying Music Education with a concentration in Composition.
