Matthew has served as the pastor at Poplar Springs since May, 2018. He first began serving in full-time ministry after a ten-year career in law enforcement in his home town of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Before coming to Poplar Springs, Matthew served as a youth pastor and later associate pastor in Chattanooga. He and his wife, Erica, now live in Flowery Branch with their three children.
Trey has served as the Minister of Music at Poplar Springs since September 2010. Before coming to PSBC, he was an active member in the music ministry of First Baptist in Duluth. He and his wife, Stacy, have been married since 1994 and live in Buford with their 3 children: Kaitlyn, Maddie, and Robby.
Vicki Finger (or better known as “Miss Vicki”) joined the staff of Poplar Springs Baptist Church as Children’s Minister on August 1, 2006. The passion of her life has been and continues to be serving the Lord through ministry to children and youth. She also loves spending time with her family and enjoys reading, art, and music.
Ben has served as the Interim Student Pastor at PSBC since September of 2017. Before coming to Poplar Springs, he has served in Student Ministry in Georgia, North Carolina, and in Florida where he also served as the Senior Pastor for nearly 10 years. He is currently the Director of Spiritual Life and Bible Department Head at Prince Avenue Christian School. Ben and his wife Julie have been married for 17 years and have three children: Landon, Jax, and Sadie.
Cathy joined the PSBC staff in 2001 and serves as Church Secretary/Treasurer. She and her husband have two children and one very loved granddaughter. She enjoys traveling, serving Christ in the many ministry opportunities at Poplar Springs, and the joy and passion of Bible Study.
Fran has served Poplar Springs as the Pianist since November 2011. Fran is a PK (Preacher’s Kid) whose mother found her a piano teacher on every church field. She and her husband, Skider, have been married since 1970 and currently live in Cumming, GA. They have two grown sons and 3 grandchildren.
